What is a Document Type?

In Wilqo, a Document Type is a label that tells the system what kind of file you’re working with (for example, a 1003 loan application, a 1099 form, or an appraisal addendum).

Each document type has:

A friendly name (what you see in the system)
A system name (used behind the scenes for processing and automation)

This helps Wilqo:

Organize documents correctly
Trigger the right workflows
Ensure files are categorized consistently

Why Document Types Matter?

Using the correct document type ensures:

Documents are easy to find later
Automations and validations run properly
Files are routed to the right place in the process

For example:

Selecting “1008 Transmittal Summary” ensures it’s treated differently than a “1099-NEC”
Addenda like “Addendum – Interest Only” are handled separately from core loan documents
